What is a vision board?

"It's a great way to visualise what you want, keep track of your progress, and help you stay on target to realizing your dreams."

A vision board is a physical representation of your dreams and goals in life. It is made up of a collage of images, affirmations, quotes and sometimes even colours that represent your dreams and goals. You can create one using magazine clippings, photos printed from the internet, paint or even old junk mail. It's a great way to visualise what you want, keep track of your progress, and help you stay on target to realising your dreams. Vision boards are primarily used to create clarity on what you want in life.

How Does The Vision Board Work?

The vision board works by using the law of attraction to make your dreams come true. It has been used for centuries as a tool for manifesting desires into reality. You simply create an image or collage of what it is you want in life, then place it where you can see it every day. This constant reminder will help you focus on what you want most out of life, leading to more positive thoughts, feelings and actions! In essence, the vision board becomes a powerful tool for creating change in your life.

How to create a vision board

Take time to make it. A vision board might seem like a quick project, but it's worth taking your time with it. Think about all the things you'd like to achieve in life, what these things mean to you and why it's important for you to achieve them now. This will help when deciding which items should go on the board. You can create a vision board for any aspect of your life, whether it's career goals, relationship goals or health and fitness goals. . Here are the steps for creating your own vision board:

1. Pick out an area of wall space where it will stay until completed (or at least until the end of the year)

2. Gather magazines or other printed materials that inspire you (e.g., photos from travel magazines, photos from friends' Facebook pages, images from Pinterest)

3. Choose what you want to visually represent on it. Choose meaningful images for each goal and that inspire different parts of your life. You can include photos of people you admire, symbols that represent your values or phrases that resonate with you. You can use photos from magazines, postcards or even bits of paper with words written on them. The possibilities are endless.

4. Arrange your images into groups according to themes that reflect what matters most to you. You can either glue everything down or use push pins so that they stay put but can be moved around easily if necessary.

How you can use the vision board to manifest your dreams and goals ?

Put your board somewhere that you'll see it often

Hang it up somewhere like your bedroom wall, where you'll see it every day. As you go about your day-to-day life, keep looking at the board; even if you don't think about it consciously, seeing the pictures will help them sink in deeper into your subconscious mind.

Visualise your "Dream Life" or ideal outcome daily

Visualise the result you want before you begin working towards it. You'll be more likely to achieve what you desire if you can see yourself already having it. For example, if you want to lose 20 pounds, start by visualising yourself at your desired weight. Envision how good you'll feel when you look in the mirror and see yourself with a new body. Then start taking steps toward achieving this goal by exercising and eating better food choices until eventually your weight drops to where you want it to be.

Be open to everything that comes your way

Keep your eyes open for opportunities related to what you want so that when one comes along, you'll recognise it and take advantage of it quickly before anyone else does (or before someone else beats you). For example, if you want a promotion at work but haven't heard anything about it yet from your boss or HR department, keep looking out for opportunities that might arise so that you'll be the first to know and apply for the position.

Be grateful

Gratitude is so important for manifesting your dreams and goals. When you are grateful for what you have and what you are experiencing in the present moment, you automatically feel more open to receiving more good things into your life. You also tend to let go of any negative emotions that might be holding you back from achieving your goals, such as fear or guilt.

Use your affirmations

Another way is by using affirmations on your vision board. Affirmations are a simple yet powerful way to reprogram your subconscious mind. They help you create better habits and change your thoughts so that you can achieve what you want in life. For instance, if you're struggling with confidence issues and feel insecure about yourself, then write down affirmations such as "I am confident" or "I love myself" on sticky notes and place them on your vision board where they will be visible every time you look at it. The more often this message repeats itself in front of your eyes the more you will start to believe it and when you believe it , it becomes true.

Align activities with your vision

What do you want to achieve in your life? What is it that you want to accomplish? Look at the activities you are doing everyday. Are they aligned with your vision or are they just random things that doesn't lead you any closer to your goals? Once you start keeping in mind your goals, it will be easier for you to make decisions about what activities are aligned with them. For example: If your goal is being healthy, then eating chocolate cake every day may not be an activity that supports that vision. If your goal is financial freedom, then spending time watching television or playing video games may not support this vision either. This isn't just about big goals like earning a million dollars or losing 50 pounds; it's also about small daily choices like choosing between spending time on Facebook or reading a book that inspires growth and learning. Whenever possible, choose the option that moves you closer to achieving your vision rather than further away from it.

No matter what area of your life you want to improve, a vision board is a great way to keep things in perspective. Remember though, it only works if you're willing to take action towards achieving your goals. So just keep letting those pictures remind you of what you're working towards and why, never give up on your dreams and goals.
